By that, I mean to learn something new. Knitting? There's an online instructional. Cook a brand-new dish. Ask friends for their favorite card games, and learn one you don't know. You could even sign up for a course at your local junior college. Do it today!



Let people know you're switching off for a bit, then DO IT. Phone, tablet ... just take a break. It might be just for the 90 minutes before bedtime, or it might be for an entire day, but the break will do you good. If you're worried about missed calls, silence your phone, and you can return vital calls when YOU are ready.

In reflection, how realistic were your New Year's goals? Drop 20 lbs? Consider changing that to 10. Run a marathon? Maybe a half-marathon will do. Clean your house top-to-bottom every week? Perhaps just the bathrooms is a better start. Be kind to yourself. Make sure your goals are within reach, then go for them, all in!
