It's like that song by Flo Rida ... "You spin my head right round," except we're talking about ceiling fans. With the warmer weather, it's time to check the direction your fan spins. Yes, you can change it with the flip of a switch on the fan body. In winter, we want to pull the air from the floor upward ... in summer, push it from the ceiling down. Flip your switch today. "You spin my head ..." You get the picture.



Leave a little bit on your plate. You know, the diet thing. Small amounts of food count ... and can add up to massive calories. It's better in the trash than around your waist. Cut your portions by making a point to leave a little on the plate at every meal. It'll get easier with time, and your waistline with become your favorite part of you!


This month has been (mostly) about your good health. After all, February is American Heart Month. For my final February Helpful Hint, be reminded that secondhand cigarette smoke can be as deadly (or more so, as it can be more concentrated) as smoking. Keep your family (and yourself) safe and healthy. Be aware, take precautions, and live the healthiest life that you can. Here's to good heart health all year long!
