Hair salons and other venues will help you remember your appointments for the entire year. Schedule out your nail sessons, your hair treatments, even your doctor's appointments through the end of the year. Then, forget them. You'll receive a reminder from the salon when the day is about to arrive. Let them do the work. It's what you pay them for.

With the days of January slipping away, it's time to set up an alert board for your upcoming Valentine's Day activities. Use your fridge, a whiteboard, or your phone's calendar. When you get an invite or a notice, write it down or log it in. You'll be on time every time this year!

I don't mean to eat everything in the pantry, but when a bleak January morning has you down, have a serving of your favorite carb-filled food. Your bleak morning will be blasted away! That cupcake (or ravioli or avocado toast) will pick you up and help you through the day.

For fine chains on necklaces or bracelets, cut a straw to length, thread the chain through, and clasp it on the outside. The chain will remain untangled and ready for your next outing!

January can be the coldest month of the year. Be more comfortable with a hot water bottle. Snuggle next to one while watching TV or when you climb in bed at night. You'll save on your heating bill and be snuggly warm, too.
