A reminder that before starting your spring yardwork, be sure to empty all fuel for your powered yard equipment and replace it with new. Fuel goes bad and can gum up your engine. Proactive is better than frustrated! Happy yardwork!



Mindful breathing is simple, and I find it easiest to search a short video that counts breathing for me. Breathe in ... one, two, three ... Breathe out ... one, two three ... This is a good opportunity to sort your expiration dates. Yet, it may still be edible, but expiration dates also suggest when the flavor punch of spices and diet sodas begin to fade. Baking goods also age out and sometimes won't rise well. Rotate older expiry dates to the front to use them up first. Happy eating!


Late April is perfect for planting roses. Choose bare-root or container-grown, both work well. Landscape roses do especially well in groups of three so buy in quantities that suit your design. Soon, you will have multitudes of blooms to enjoy!


How about using that extra bit of yard that's out of the way and unused to grow your own salad garden! Lettuce, carrots, radishes, peas ... yes! Just plant and harvest, little work necessary! Have fun harvesting and eating!
