This is about your garbage disposal. Use your disposal for rinsing food from dishes, and shuffle the big stuff the direction of the garbage can. When you bundle your bulk food waste into the trash (use grocery store plastic bags or old zip-seal bags), your drain lines will stay clearer longer. Drain lines protected!

How about a pair of rain-proof boots for your new fall accessory? Puddle splashes won't be a bother when your toes say warm and dry! Rain, rain, go away will turn into rain, rain, what a fun day!

For your kitchen sink, anyway! A stainless sink strainer can keep sticky food particles out of your drain lines (and catch that diamond ring if it slips off your finger). Buy an extra and rotate them through the diswasher! Never dismember your pipes or put your hand in your disposer to search for something ... catch it in the sink strainer instead! You can pick up one on Amazon for only a few dollars here.

Stay social in September ... take a class at your local civic center; play a board game with friends; volunteer to help at your animal shelter or senior center. Your connection with others can be your bridge from summer to fall. Stay connected for a happier, fuller fall season!

Now that the weather's cooled, we can finally get out to trim the back fence that was too much in summer's pummeling heat. Don't forget eye protection. A face shield might seem overkill, but your eyes will thank you. Sticks and stones from a weed trimmer CAN break our bones ... or at least our eyes. Keep yours safe!
