When lending an ear to a troubled friend, always ask for permission before giving advice.

Give your young kids superhero names for their chores. Super Suds Sally, or Scrub-the-Pot Lancelot. Ignore the snafus and celebrate their success!

Practice positive statements in negative situations. Rather than, “I’m late to the post office,” say, “I’m glad the post office can send this letter for me, either today or tomorrow.”

Have high expectations for your children. Expect them to do their chores, and they will!
